Law firm, other defendants get arbitrator OK after 5 years

The underlying case involves properties owned by various investment firms that the plaintiff claims were sold without authorization and badly mismanaged.

A Los Angeles County judge tentatively granted a motion by Hill Farrer & Burrill LLP to appoint an arbitrator in a case claiming bad faith waste of invaluable real estate by investment firms.

In tentatively granting the motion on Monday, Judge Upinder S. Kalra agreed that declarations by the defense indicated that the plaintiffs had not participated in selecting an arbitrator for nearly five years.
