Morton Rochman, 1932 - 2023

Los Angeles judge dedicated his career to juvenile justice

Retired Los Angeles County Judge Morton Rochman, who before stepping down was the longest-serving state court judge in California, died on Sept. 17. He was 90.

Rochman was appointed to the Los Angeles Municipal Court by Gov. Ronald Reagan in 1971 and elevated to the Superior Court by Gov. George Deukmejian in 1985. At the start of the 1990s, the judge was assigned to juvenile court, where he spent the rest of his career.
