Amazon has online monopoly, FTC says in latest complaint

“I think a lot of people would have a difficult time imagining that local brick-and-mortar stores should be in the same category as online stores,” said Manhattan Beach antitrust attorney Majed Dakak said.

Amazon.com Inc. engaged in anticompetitive practices to maintain an illegal monopoly, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission alleged in its latest attempt to curb what it believes are antitrust violations by large corporations.
