Google asks again to decertify YouTube subscriber class

Google argued that the class cannot pursue damages because the plaintiffs kept using YouTube’s premium subscription and thus, any damages would constitute a windfall.

Google LLC asked a Santa Clara County judge on Thursday to decertify a class of plaintiffs who accuse the company of unauthorized renewal of their paid YouTube subscriptions

Superior Court Judge Sunil R. Kulkarni had denied a similar motion in August. He allowed the second try and took it under submission after arguments Thursday.
