US judge OKs LA County’s $1B homeless settlement
“We are extremely pleased that the court has decided today to approve a historic settlement that will add to an already unprecedented level of county support in the fight against homelessness,” said a statement from Miller Barondess LLP partner J. Mira Hashmall.




A federal judge approved Thursday a settlement for Los Angeles County to spend over $1 billion on resources for homeless people including beds and mental health treatment.
U.S. District Judge David O. Carter had rejected two previous attempts to reach an agreement between the county and the plaintiffs, an advocacy group, saying they would have ended his involvement in the case.
