Death of Feinstein could upend Biden’s judge nominations

Several Republicans offered public assurances Friday that they would not try to block the appointment of another Democrat to the Judiciary Committee in the wake of Feinstein’s death, but that did not seem to reassure uneasy Democrats.

Even as Democrats mourned the death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, they fretted about whether Republicans would try to block them from replacing her on the Senate Judiciary Committee.
