Los Angeles joins chorus urging reversal of anti-camping ruling

“The City of Los Angeles and other local jurisdictions in the Ninth Circuit are trying to solve the humanitarian tragedy facing our unhoused residents, while simultaneously dealing with the health and safety concerns raised by having tens of thousands of people living with their possessions in public spaces intended for other, shared purposes,” wrote City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto.

Los Angeles City Attorney Hydee Feldstein Soto joined a chorus of government officials throughout the West urging the U.S. Supreme Court to review a decision from the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals that greatly limits how municipalities can enforce anti-camping laws.
