Supreme Court won't revisit federal cannabis cultivation law

Attorneys for a Mendocino County couple argued that county officials' denial of a cannabis cultivation permit violated due process and the equal protection clause in a case that cited the 38 states that now have legalized cannabis either for medicinal or recreational purposes.

The U.S. Supreme Court passed on an opportunity Monday to revisit a 2005 ruling that gives Congress the authority to prohibit the cultivation and use of marijuana, regardless of California law.
