Insurance broker sued again over non-compete covenants
“At issue is the legality of a contractual scheme intended to evade California public policy and law involving restrictive covenants combined with Missouri forum and choice-of-law provisions,” attorney Seth M. Gerber wrote on behalf of the plaintiffs.

Former executives of the insurance brokerage Lockton Companies filed seven lawsuits in Los Angeles County Superior Court last week challenging the enforceability of the insurer’s non-compete covenants in California.
The plaintiffs seek a judicial declaration that they may compete against Lockton, which includes calling upon actual and prospective clients from their former stint with the company, which is based in Missouri.
