Another lawsuit filed after FDA questions efficacy of oral decongestants
“For years, defendants have advertised and marketed the phenylephrine products to unsuspecting consumers despite knowing that phenylephrine is ineffective for the treatment of nasal congestion and the other cold and flu symptoms for which defendants promote its use,” plaintiffs’ attorneys Christopher R. Rodriguez and Andrew D. Bluth of Singleton Schreiber LLP wrote in the complaint.




Manufacturers and sellers of common over-the-counter decongestants – including Sudafed, Tylenol, Nyquil, Theraflu and Mucinex – are accused of fraud following an FDA finding that they are not effective in their oral form.
