Fired TikTok executive drops request to pause lawsuit

The original lawsuit, filed in May, claims Yu was fired as head engineer for ByteDance’s U.S. operations for whistleblowing about the ByteDance’s content scraping software that, he said, took popular content from competing social media sites and reposted it to TikTok.

A state court judge in San Francisco refused to pause proceedings in a wrongful termination lawsuit filed by a former executive for ByteDance Inc., citing the fact that a companion lawsuit against the parent of TikTok has now been removed to federal court.
