Edison settles US government lawsuit over Thomas Fire

Neither side would provide details of the deal. The Thomas Fire in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties burned for 40 days in 2017.

Southern California Edison Co. and the federal government settled a lawsuit over the utility company’s alleged involvement in the outbreak of the Thomas Fire six years ago, according to a notice filed with the court.

The U.S. Attorney’s office in Los Angeles informed U.S. District Judge Wesley L. Hsu on Tuesday that the lawsuit was resolved but no additional details were revealed. The case was scheduled for trial in June and was prosecute...
