Caltrans settles longrunning litigation over stormwater pollution

Los Angeles Waterkeeper and the Natural Resources Defense Council sued Caltrans in 1993 over untreated water that runs into Santa Monica Bay.

After 30 years of litigation, the California Department of Transportation settled a federal lawsuit that accused the agency of causing stormwater pollution by failing to properly manage toxic discharge.
