State, Coronado reach agreement for affordable housing

The proposed order states that If the city fails to abide by the settlement, it will be subject to monetary penalties and may lose its authority to approve or deny certain types of development, with an emphasis on facilitating homes for households earning below a middle-class income.

Attorney General Rob Bonta and the City of Coronado issued a proposed stipulated judgment on Friday that will require the island city in San Diego Bay to develop a plan for 912 homes for low-income families in compliance with the state affordable housing law.
