Discipline trial begins against 1st Girardi Keese attorney

“In his 20-year history he was never aware of Mr. Girardi ever failing to pay a client, late or at all,” defense attorney Ryan D. Saba of Rosen Saba said. Prosecutor Eli D. Morgenstern said, “Respondent in his communications with the clients … committed various acts of intentional deceit and dishonesty.”

Former Girardi Keese attorney Keith D. Griffin knowingly misled clients, keeping them in the dark about misappropriation of their settlement funds by firm head Thomas Girardi, a State Bar prosecutor said in his opening statement at Griffin’s disciplinary proceedings on Tuesday.
