Armorer needn’t appear in lawsuit over ‘Rust’ set shooting
Judge Mel “Red” Recana granted the motion to quash Friday but exhibited uncertainty over the existence of related cases. The judge said he read in the paper about related cases before an attorney informed him one of them is before him.




A Los Angeles County judge quashed a civil case subpoena for the armorer on the film “Rust,” where actor Alec Baldwin discharged a firearm that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza.
The armorer, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, is facing a criminal charge related to the shooting in New Mexico.
