Uber, plaintiffs to pick 20 bellwether driver abuse cases

Each side will propose to the court 10 cases for inclusion in the bellwether discovery pool by Nov. 17. But they argued over the plaintiffs’ request to meet and exchange their case lists on Nov. 10.

Uber Technologies Inc. and a group of plaintiffs lawyers told a San Francisco judge Monday that they will identify 20 potential bellwether cases in a California Judicial Council Coordinated Proceeding accusing the company of systemically failing to protect customers from sexual assault by drivers.
