Judge sends warning after sentencing in 1st fentanyl murder trial
“The court is hopeful that this warning will go out loud and clear,” Riverside Superior Court Judge Timothy F. Freer said. “Not to enhance any conviction sought by the people or any prosecuting agency, but simply to save somebody else’s life; the next Kelsey King.”

RIVERSIDE — Superior Court Judge Timothy F. Freer on Friday sentenced a man convicted of second-degree murder in California’s first fentanyl-related homicide trial to a prison term of 15 years-to-life, and issued a stern warning.
“If you are furnishing fentanyl to others in any form, you should be advised that in Riverside County, that will come with serious consequences, if not life altering consequences,” Freer said from the bench.
