After more than a year and a half in limbo, U.S. Magistrate Judge Kenly Kiya Kato of Riverside was confirmed to a judgeship on the Central District of California bench Tuesday.
The Senate floor vote was 51-46. All the Democratic and independent senators voted for her. She got no Republican votes. Three Republican senators were absent.
