The U.S. Senate voted Wednesday evening to cut off debate on the nomination of Monica Ramirez Almadani, a former federal prosecutor, ACLU attorney and current president and CEO of Public Counsel, for a vacancy on the Central District of California bench.
The vote on the cloture motion was 52-46. U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC, the ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, voted in favor.
