TikTok wants dismissal of lawsuit over data scraping

U.S. District Judge Stanley Blumenfeld Jr. in Los Angeles allowed some claims to proceed last month, writing in his order that the allegations against TikTok are sufficiently similar to a 2020 data tracking lawsuit against Facebook, now Meta Platforms.

TikTok Inc. and parent company ByteDance Ltd. asked a federal judge to throw out the remaining claims in a proposed data scraping class action, saying the plaintiffs “have pled themselves out of court” with their amended complaint.
