Across California, housing built specifically for military veterans sits empty. A new law — and an ongoing federal lawsuit — seek to remove the barriers that allow that to happen.
Though not directly connected, AB 1386 and a federal suit in Los Angeles address the same issue: Many veterans make too much money to qualify for subsidized housing, but not enough to afford market rate housing.
