Latham wins on appeal for defense on rare holder claim
The plaintiffs’ “claims have been soundly rejected as meritless multiple times over the past decade, and we are pleased to have our jury trial victory affirmed on appeal,” said Michele D. Johnson of Latham & Watkins.
A California Court of Appeal panel affirmed a ruling for the defense in the first holder’s claim to go to trial in the United States in nearly 90 years, say attorneys with Latham & Watkins who secured the lower court verdict in 2021.
The firm represents the former chairman and former CEO of a health care firm accused of making false statements to a major shareholder.
