BraunHagey keeps stay in place in suit over spoof email

LTC Limited claimed unknown perpetrators “took advantage of BraunHagey’s compromised email systems to ‘spoof’ … the email accounts of BraunHagey’s attorneys and staff.”

A San Francisco judge declined Thursday to lift the stay on a lawsuit by a British Virgin Islands investment company, LTC Limited, accusing BraunHagey & Borden LLP of failing to protect confidential communications from a spoof email scheme that the company claims caused it to wire $2.8 million to the hackers.
