Lawsuit filed over recalled Medtronic insulin pumps
The company initiated a recall in October 2019 and replaced the pumps with versions that have more durable black retainer rings. The Food and Drug Administration issued a Class I recall in February 2020.
Medtronic’s insulin pumps have a defect that causes them to deliver too much or not enough insulin to a patient, leading to possible loss of consciousness, seizure or death, according to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles.
