Kia, Hyundai sales practices slammed in anti-theft litigation

The plaintiffs argue that the automakers’ failure to clearly and conspicuously disclose the absence of industry-standard anti-theft technology was not deceptive, and that their sales practices for defective cars were truthful.

Lawyers representing Chicago plaintiffs in a multidistrict vehicle anti-theft device litigation against Kia America Inc. and Hyundai Motor America argued in federal court in Santa Ana that the automakers were wrong in contending in a demurrer that their sales practices for defective cars were truthful.
