Judge blocks Kirkland's attempt to access personnel files from other firms

The focus of discovery should be on Zoya Kovalenko’s performance at Kirkland & Ellis, “including whether she was treated differently from similarly situated male employees and whether she was harassed or retaliated against,” U.S. Magistrate Judge Thomas S. Hixson wrote.

A federal judge in San Francisco blocked Kirkland & Ellis LLP, accused of sex discrimination and wrongful termination by a former associate, from issuing subpoenas to two law firms that formerly employed the plaintiff.
