Vivint accused of using TikTok to violate trap and trace Law

The home security company’s software uses fingerprinting to collect data from website visitors and matches it with data TikTok has compiled about hundreds of millions of people, the complaint states.

Attorneys with Tauler Smith LLP have filed a class complaint in Los Angeles accusing a smart home security company of employing TikTok software on its website, allowing defendant Vivint to use TikTok to identify, watch, track and trace website visitors in violation of California's trap and trace law.
