Judge dismisses Chicago’s claim in auto anti-theft case

The city’s complaint alleged that the car manufacturers failed to use engine immobilizers, which is not required under federal regulations. The city has 20 days to file an amended complaint.

A federal judge granted a motion to dismiss one of the complaints filed in a multidistrict suit that alleges Kia and Hyundai manufactured vehicles with deficient antitheft features.
