Kirkland & Ellis will lead Apple's antitrust defense

The complaint, filed in federal court in New Jersey, accuses Apple of engaging in monopolistic behavior in contravention of the Sherman Act, such as stifling innovation in app development.

Apple Inc. has appointed Kirkland & Ellis LLP to defend it against a sweeping antitrust complaint filed by the Department of Justice and 15 state attorneys general, a case legal experts say has key parallels with the Microsoft Corp. antitrust case concluded more than two decades ago.
