Insurance company doesn’t want jury to know about settlements

The lawsuit stems from the 2007 “acrimonious divorce” between Saul Fox, Fox Paine & Co’s founder, and his partner W. Dexter Paine III.

Attorneys representing an insurance company in dispute with the private equity firm Fox Paine & Co. filed a motion in San Francisco Superior Court arguing they shouldn’t have to reveal the amount of settlements Fox Paine received from two other insurance companies because it could taint the jury.
