Judge approves arbitration in Citibank Armenian bias case

The judge ruled that a 2017 California Supreme Court decision that found pre-dispute arbitration agreements that bar individuals' right to seek general public injunctive relief were unenforceable did not apply to the plaintiff's claims.

A Los Angeles federal judge found Citibank's arbitration clause did not violate public policy and paused a case where a woman and a putative class accused the bank of denying and canceling credit cards of those whose last names suggested Armenian heritage.
