$14M verdict against UCLA is personal for attorney and his doctor
Dr. Lauren C. Pinter-Brown's first verdict against the UC Regents was reversed by the 2nd District Court of Appeal after the trial judge allowed evidence not directly related to her gender discrimination claims.





The second time is the charm for litigator Carney R. Shegerian and his doctor.
On Thursday Shegerian won a $14 million jury verdict for Dr. Lauren C. Pinter-Brown, who claimed a male colleague at UCLA conducted a campaign of harassment against her. When she reported it, UCLA allegedly targeted her with audits and suspended her research privileges.
