Citing juror bias and 'nonsensical' calculations, NFL moves for $4.7B jury verdict to be set aside
In its motion, the NFL claims errors at the June trial led to the improper verdict, including the jury's use of a phone calculator that wrongfully identified and multiplied overcharges during the class period.
Attorneys representing the National Football League in its "Sunday Ticket" antitrust action said the calculations informing the jury's $4.7 billion verdict against the league last month were irrational and reflected "speculation" and "guesswork" that was influenced by a failed price-fixing conspiracy theory brought by the plaintiff class and a biased juror.
