Report warns of looming insurance crises

The report found growing heat could undermine several insurance markets in the state.

Another round of climate-related insurance crises is on the horizon, according to a new report from the California Department of Insurance.

"Impacts of extreme heat to California's people, infrastructure, and economy" cites potential burdens to medical, life, crop and business interruption insurance. The report came out last week as temperatures topped 110 degrees across much of the Central Valley.
