California's law to protect underage internet users under scrutiny

A 9th Circuit panel will consider the statute, AB 2273, which requires special online protections for underage internet users.

Lawyers representing a technology industry group cited a U.S. Supreme Court decision earlier this month to argue that the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals should uphold a preliminary injunction blocking a California law that requires special online protections for underage internet users.

A 9th Circuit panel will consider arguments about the injunction on Wednesday. NetChoice LLC v. Bonta, 23-2969 (9th Circ., filed Oct. 23, 2023).
