Judge rules VA's leasing policy discriminates against veterans

Other claims brought by homeless veterans against the federal government are set to be considered at trial next month.

The lease of U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs land in West Los Angeles to third parties subjected disabled veterans to discriminatory income limitations, leaving most homeless, in violation of the Rehabilitation Act, a federal judge ruled. The ruling by U.S. District Judge David O. Carter of Santa Ana leaves other claims brought by homeless veterans against the department and a local housing agency to be determined at trial next month.
