Prosecutors say no justification for delaying Girardi trial

On Saturday, Federal Defender Charles J. Snyder filed an application to delay the Aug. 6 trial to October on the basis that the defense team was "simply not trial ready."

Government prosecutors on Wednesday argued Tom Girardi's counsel had failed to prove why pushing back his $15 million wire fraud trial for the second time this year, after agreeing in March they would seek no further continuances, was appropriate with just three weeks to go until scheduled commencement.
