Judge concerned Girardi continuance request was 'long in the making'

U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton granted the disgraced lawyer's motion to sever himself and co-defendant Christopher Kamon's proceedings but denied his request to delay the trial for the second time this year.

U.S. District Judge Josephine L. Staton promptly shut down Tom Girardi's request to again delay his upcoming $15 million wire fraud trial, which is set to commence in less than three weeks, questioning the integrity of the request while finding his counsel did not make sufficient arguments consistent with continuance concerns.
