Appeals court reinstates rioting charges against white supremacist group leader

The decision is a sharp rebuke of now-retired U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney of Santa Ana.

Federal rioting charges against the accused leader of a white supremacist group and a co-defendant have been reinstated by the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, reversing a district judge's decision that the government was engaging in selective prosecution by failing to charge left-wing demonstrators too.
