9th Circuit appears inclined to reinstate class action over Chrome browser
Plaintiffs argue that the company violated its promise that any personal information provided while using Chrome would not be sent to Google unless computer users turn on "sync," an optional feature to autofill addresses that can be disabled.
A 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals panel appeared inclined Friday to wipe out Google LLC's defeat of a class action filed by U.S. users of the company's Chrome browser, or at a minimum remand the case to a district judge.
