Defense confronts witness with 2020 texts about 'delusional' Girardi
Girardi's defense is that at the time of the alleged wire fraud misconduct, he was in the beginning stages of his 2021-diagnosed, late-onset Alzheimer's disease and dementia and was not in a culpable state of mind to carry out the alleged crimes.
Tom Girardi was delusional, couldn't remember anything, and clients felt he was "losing it mentally," a former Girardi Keese accounting worker wrote in 2020, in texts introduced by the defense Tuesday in his trial on charges of misappropriating $15 million of clients' money.
