City of their dreams may be dead, but antitrust litigation lives on

A group of investors aiming to build a model city abandoned their plans in Solano County, but they are still trying to hold local landholders responsible for jacking up prices.

Despite withdrawing a voter initiative to build a new Solano County model city, California Forever is still pursuing antitrust litigation against landowners it accuses of conspiring to pump up the sales price of their properties.

Meanwhile, another set of investors have pulled off what California Forever so far has failed to do: get permission to build thousands of new homes in the growth-averse county.
