Fight over cardrooms appears headed to court

Voters passed Proposition 1A in 2000, creating the modern era of tribal casinos. But there has been ambiguity about whether that initiative granted tribes the sole right to offer games such as blackjack.

California gaming tribes will get their day in court, following marathon sessions on the last day of the legislative year.
