A pause in the advancement of LGBTQ+ Rights
In Hunter v. U.S. Department of Education, LGBTQ+ students sued the Department of Education for alleged discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, and gender identity at religious colleges and universities that receive federal funding. The 9th Circuit held that the Title IX exemption does not violate the Establishment Clause, and affirmed the District Court's dismissal.
