Judge skeptical of minors' 2nd try for standing in suit against U.S. over pollution

Citing the 9th Circuit, a district judge in LA tentatively granted the EPA's motion to dismiss a lawsuit that claims it discriminates against minors in making decisions on policies and costs of controlling greenhouse gas emissions.

A federal judge in Los Angeles is, again, considering dropping claims by a group of minors who accused the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of unconstitutionally allowing harmful levels of greenhouse gas emissions to accumulate in the air.

Although U.S. District Judge Michael W. Fitzgerald tentatively granted the EPA's motion to dismiss the amended complaint on Monday, he didn't immediately shut the 18 plaintiffs down and took the matter under submission after hearing ...
