23andMe faces another lawsuit over data breach

The latest lawsuit, filed in Santa Clara County, accuses the genetic testing company of failing to implement adequate security measures to protect customer data before a 2023 cyberattack.

23andMe Inc. was hit with a mass tort lawsuit filed in Santa Clara County by a group of 350 Illinois residents seeking to hold the company liable for the October 2023 cyberattack that compromised the genetic information of roughly 6.9 million people.
