Annex to state Capitol doesn't violate CEQA, Court of Appeal rules

The 72-year-old Capitol Annex, which housed most legislative offices, has already been demolished.

A California appeal court has affirmed the Legislature's right to exempt large projects from CEQA-- including its new home under construction.

Justice Stacy E. Boulware Eurie wrote for a unanimous the 3rd District Court of Appeal panel that the Capitol Annex project does not violate the California Environmental Quality Act because the Legislature said so.
