Judge ends firefighters' challenge to LA vaccine mandate

The expiration of the city of Los Angeles' vaccine mandate rendered the plaintiffs' claims moot, given no city employees are currently subject to it, Judge Michelle C. Kim ruled.

The city of Los Angeles won summary judgment without leave to amend on Thursday in a long-running legal battle against firefighters over COVID-19 vaccine mandates.

Judge Michelle C. Kim ruled that the mandate's expiration rendered moot the plaintiffs' claims that it had violated their constitutional rights by removing unvaccinated firefighters from duty. $95
