India-based landlord can't avoid LA court deposition

The fact that Haresh Jogani is neither a citizen nor a resident of the United States does not exempt him from complying with an earlier court-ordered deposition, a Los Angeles judge ruled.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Kevin C. Brazile on Tuesday denied landlord Haresh Jogani's bid to avoid sitting for a deposition in a case in which he is accused of facilitating sub-standard living conditions at a building he owns.
